A Must Read for Wealthy Parents & Children - Future Leader: 7 Prophetic Declarations for Shaping Your Child's Identity
Can you be born wealthy? Well, my answer is ‘yes”.
If your answer is ‘no,’ I encourage you to check out Future Leader: 7 Prophetic Declarations for Shaping Your Child's Identity, released this spring by Gbenga Uginimi. One of my main takeaways from the book is that every child, by virtue of their God-given purpose, is indeed wealthy! Wrap your head around that - we’re not talking monetary wealth, but rather one’s greatness simply by being on this earth. Each person deserves to be poured into with affirmation and love. Powerful, right?
Our family has loved reading the book this summer, and thus in celebration of National Book Lover’s Day, I want to share its gems with you too!
The book explores the power of prayer and spoken word as an identity framing and purpose discovery strategy. The book is written from a Christian perspective using the practice of prophetic declarations and words of affirmation. The author outlines 7 prophetic declarations:
Man/Woman of God
Wealth Creator
Changemaker
History-maker
Man/Woman of Integrity
Thought Leader
Global Blessing
The book is specifically geared to encourage children, and there’s also a boys’ and girls’ version that speaks to their special place in this world. That said, I know that you will also enjoy this book as a parent. You can use it in your daily reading or playtime activities with your kid or for special occasions such as a baby shower or baby dedication.
My favorite declarations are “wealth creator” and “global blessing.” Gbenga puts forth the notion that a child can create wealth not only for him/herself but for future generations. And, children learn that “as long as you are in the world, there is plenty of light.”
The book might change your mind, and surely that of your child’s. Check it out as I’m sure that you won’t be disappointed with speaking life into your own child, or a child that you know is part of your community.
A Wealthy Girl Corner
You may notice similar themes in Future Leader and A Wealthy Girl. That’s because there is - In A Wealthy Girl, I bring forth a holistic definition of wealth, which encompasses tangible and intangible wealth. Future Leader honors the intangible wealth that we have by the power of our language and affirmations, which can make a child wealthy. I want you to ponder this thought:
What affirmation will you tell yourself today that makes you believe that you are indeed wealthy?
You are wealthy. You deserve all that you have and want in this life!!
